Fully funded (FREE) Nature activities at Moses Gate Country Park

Our Charity (Banana Enterprise Network) is constantly writing funding bid applications to be able to pay for specialist organisations to deliver more of the fully funded (free) activities this year at Moses Gate Country Park for local residents. For every bid we write, we may only be successful with one or two, but we are doing out best.

Thanks to the The National Lottery Community Fund we can announce some free nature activities which will be delivered for us by the wonderful Bolton Conservation Volunteers – BCV starting next month. We will also be working with other organisations such as the amazing Wolfpack Adventures too and will announce those dates within the next few weeks for axe and archery sessions in the summer. We have other free activities planned too and will announce them nearer the time. For now, here’s some dates for your diaries:-

12 March 2023 – Conservation Maintenance around Rock Hall (for Adults and Children aged over 12 years old. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult). The session will include improving and maintaining the wildflower areas around Rock Hall, pond maintenance in the wildflower garden and some hedge planting around the bird hide.

09 April 2023 – Tree Planting and Reed bed maintenance (for Adults and Children aged over 7 years old. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult). We will be continuing our tree planting area in Moses Gate and our work on improving and maintaining the reed bed area in Moses Gate.

07 May 2023 – Pond Dipping Activity (for Children and Adults. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult). Family friendly activity that will take place in the wildlife garden.

04 June 2023 – Balsam Bashing (for Adults and Children aged over 7 years old. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult).We will continue reducing the amount of Himalayan Balsam around Rock Hall.
