Project Update 05.07.24

Thanks for your patience waiting for news and we absolutely appreciate that many of you are wondering what’s happening with the Hall. As our loyal followers will know, in the past 4 years, we were able to update you regularly since our Charity (Banana Enterprise Network) started our Save Rock Hall project in January 2020. However, since we were successful with the joint funding bid to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, there’s so much work going on behind the scenes that we are not able to update you as often. Rest assured that our project programme of activities for the “Development Phase” of the Rock Hall Revival Project is on track!

There are many aspects to this project, so just because you cannot physically see anything happening at the Hall at the moment, that doesn’t mean nothing is progressing! Behind the scenes, a huge amount of work is being completed by our Project Manager, Operations Manager, Finance Manager, Architects, Project Officer, Surveyors and the Council, who are all working together to achieve the success of our project!

Thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund, we are busy delivering various heritage themed community activities with our wonderful project partners and our amazing Project Officer Dani , is very busy planning and organising even more!. Community Activities – Tai Chi is returning to the Hall on 31st July and the 7th, 14th and 21st August (1pm-2pm on all dates). You can choose to attend any of those dates or attend all 4 if you wish.

Our “We Love Nature and Wildlife” event is on 3rd August 2024 at 12pm-3pm. Do not miss it! We are proud to announce that we are bringing Alpaca to Farnworth (we believe its a first for farnworth!) thanks to Poppywood Alpacas. We will also have other live animals at the park too thanks to Crocodile Joe and Wriggly Roadshow – bringing learning to life! There will be stalls from local groups such as Bolton Conservation Volunteers, Willow Hey, Woodland Trust, Lancashire Wildlife Trust, Bolton & Bury Swifts for example and Free Face Painting and Pond dipping sessions! You will also be able to play Heritage Games or join in our “Worm Fest” or maybe you would like to help build a giant birds nest! There will also be the chance to try some wood carving with Greenwood Twiggs too. The event if fully funded (FREE) and no need to book – just turn up!

We also have a lovely local history story to share with you soon too. It involves an amazing coincidence that occurred while Chris and Jayne from our Team were visiting Devon last week. We will share that story with you this weekend on our Facebook page.

There will be further updates soon as our Charity is now seeking additional Trustees to join our Board. Watch this space!
