Rock Hall Artist of the Year!

Here are the details of our new outdoor Art in the Park project kindly funded by Bolton CVS . We have purchased all the art equipment needed including paints (watercolours, acrylics, watercolour pencils), art paper/canvases, easels, brushes and more! All you need to bring is your own camping type chair or stool to sit on.

We are inviting you to paint a picture of Rock Hall and our expert artists will be on hand to help you. The public will vote for the best painting.

We will be running four painting sessions in total (3hrs per session) and the sessions will be split into two separate groups (up to 15 people per group). Each group will be given two 3hr art sessions with artist support.

Group 1 sessions are Tuesday 8th August at 1pm until 4pm and Thursday 10th August at 1pm until 4pm at Moses Gate Country Park.

Group 2 starts Saturday 12th August at 1pm until 4pm and Tuesday 15th starting at 1pm until 4pm.

All Sessions are at Moses Gate Country Park. Please note that there is a possibly that no toilets will be available as they have been out of order recently). Our art sessions are weather dependant, so the dates could be subject to change. Light rain is fine as we have gazebos and tarpaulins but heavy rain will mean that we have to postpone the session. There is also the possibility of running some of the 4 sessions at a venue in Farnworth if the weather is unkind to us!

Residents living in eligible areas can also claim for bus travel expenses to/from the park or 45p per mile if coming by car.

Eligibility: The project is for adults only and priority will be given to residents living in Farnworth, Little Lever, Kearsley and Darcy Lever. We have up to 30 places available on this project which is free of charge. If you live outside the eligible areas still contact us though in case we have some spare places.

The sessions are suitable for beginners or for people who may have tried painting before. The aim of the project is for you to have fun, meet new friends and paint your own painting of Rock Hall.

The artist we have commissioned to deliver the project with us is Bill Usher (on the right of the photo) and he will be supported by fellow artist, Paul Hilton (on the left). Both artists are members of Bolton Art Circle and are very talented artists.
